Top heavyweight bout.
Deslauriers had a bad showing against Borowiecki. Is MacDermid back to being the official heavyweight champ?

Isnt Reeves still the champ? and Xhekaj is the next one...dude is a beast I don't think of Reaves as the champ personally, maybe he just isn't getting challenged and he still is, I dunno.
Activity has to be considered, although it isn't his fault if nobody wants to fight him (may or may not be true).

I like the fights but I hate that a big clean hit is what initiates them now. Seems counter-productive to keeping hitting in the game.
Also hate that they just stop at a certain point when they're tired or worn out. If you're fighting you should be trying to win/hurt the opponent, otherwise why do it.
**too many 70's and 80's fight highlights in the youtube feed** opinion above.

Former Blackhawk, the legendary Dennis Gilbert, got knocked down in one of the best fights of the season so far:

Would it kill the NHL to have one of those real line brawls once in a while?
The fans at that game sure hated it…lol

I went to an Lakehead Thunderwolves (Canadian University) playoff game last weekend. They draw big crowds here as opposed to the rest of the league (6000+ for the two weekend games, near sellouts of the 3300 capacity of the arena, while all the other University playoff games in Canada combined for the weekend drew less than 5500...always been a bigger thing than average here).
Was a decent enough game but the lack of regular hitting and body contact was a real let down for me. I hadn't been to a live game for years and the physicality was sorely lacking. You'd get the odd decent hit, but the hitting wasn't regular at all.
It's a by-product of the players being so much faster today than yesteryear. It's taken a lot of the hitting out without the league higher ups even having to do anything about it with the rules.
It's why fighting is going away in the NHL sooner than later and at this point, it's worthless since people fight out of obligation rather than genuine anger or emotion.
(I gotta stop watching 70's and 80's highlights on youtube...lol)
