Duclair is softer than Giovi's stool

Soft stool is insulted by the comparison.

That roster is exactly what the doctored ordered. Hawks need to Edmonton Oiler the next couple of seasons and find the next two headed monster to run with.

Or they end up with 20 years of failure and drop out flunkies.
Retool and hope they can swing one or two more good runs.

There is no re-tooling this roster...the core is done...especially without Hossa.

Exactly. Any rebound from the core (minus Hoss & Hammer) comes in the form of Crawford back in top form which MAYBE gets them into the 7th or 8th playoff spot. Then comes another first round exit. The faster the braintrust realizes this...

I don't really disagree, I just don't think you can move enough or any of these, guys to really rebuild. Then you topit off you resigned these plugs, like ruuta. It exasperated a bad situation.

Yes, that is exactly the problem, B...the albatross contracts of the remaining core...specifically 7 and 19...will cripple this team and prevent the necessary overhaul.

Stan should be able to find a taker for Crawford. That helps as the goaltending available almost guarantees another top 10 hopefully top 5 pick next year. 19 and 7 are here for the duration, but one can hope that cap inflation slowly eats away at the deals to make them less damaging that you can trade them when they are expiring UFAs. Maybe there is another round of free buyouts in the next CBA in two years. That would be a miracle and gives the Hawks an out on one of them at least.
As a side note, there is little reason to keep Schmaltz and Debrincat. They will be on their 2nd maybe 3rd contracts by the time the Hawks could potentially be relevant again. Right now they have peak value so dump them get picks and prospects.
The next shoe to drop will be Keith. I have a feeling he doesn't want to play making 500k in a couple years. Maybe time to start coming up with a narrative this season. Lots of missed practices, etc.

I really dont see stund trading Crow. He, and Hawks management seem to believe they are still contenders next season.

I cringe, but trading Crawford without a similar goalie would implode what little chance they do have to compete. So if you want to force the tank that's the play. Maybe you push a few guys into retirement.
More likely you get 5+ years of 2017 hawks n only a chance to draft couple guys who maybe can turn it around.
You trade debrinkcat and all current youth then too imo. Really try to have as many guys pushing into league in prime together.

The words Hawks and compete in the same sentence have no business being together right now.

Funny how we havnt even gotten through this draft, and the '19 draft is also needed to fix this kind of stupid.
