It's only fitting that the lone goal scored by these 2 shitball teams was kicked by the Blies into their own net. Can you imagine paying to be at that snoozefest last night? Pretty exciting game....I dozed off after the 1st period. Well that was around 8pm Central, way past your normal bedtime anyways.

The days of run and gun are over. Colliton has to slow down the pace. Play more sound defense. Convert on turnovers.

Hawks team defense was solid, but boy was that a boring game to watch. The only signs of emotion all night were Edmundson taking a stupid penalty on Kunitz, and Brandon Manning leaping into a pile of players looking for some man-on-man action. Of course, he found none.
It's odd to say after a shutout, but this wasn't a goalie win. Hawks centermen played solid positional play and owned the high slot all game. The Blues got nothing. And they were also really shitty, not generating anything off the rush.
Now let's see the Hawks repeat this defensive performance against a decent hockey team. Oh, they play the Kings next? Nevermind. This will do just fine.

Team defense was vastly improved in this game. Seems they are starting to get a grasp on the change from zone to man-to-man. Nothing wrong with playing good team defense, forechecking hard(Hawks did last night) and counterattacking. It took Vegas to the SCF. The more comfortable they get the more the offense will open up as well.

It was about as exciting as a work meeting. Just lasted a little longer. You know how you're forced to attend because there's going to be 5 minutes that concern you, and then the other 2hrs are people discussing QA numbers that dipped from 98.94 to 98.92 last week. Hawks got the win, but if this kind of hockey continues, I'll switch to watching only the highlights. I have enough QA meetings already.
