funny i had the preds feed in Saturday, and they were saying how the salomaki hit was 100%(which looked ok to me, but maybe not in the current nhl) hawks played with some tiny bit of heart in the last 2 games after dks ejection. i noticed kane threw a few checks which was nice. Let's see how play against the physical Ducks.

The problem is the core. 19, 7, and 2 are soaking up over 22 million in cap and provide nothing. It's probably time to stop calling them part of the core and just call them anchors.
Just adding an exclamation point to this, the Hawks #1 PP unit of 19, 88, 20, 2 & 7, per CapFriendly, has an annual cap hit of ~$39M. That's dead LAST in the entire NHL. Anchors (as in dead weight) indeed!

they stand still just like with q. they do the same corny entry just like with q. they refuse to get in front n let seabrook attempt to blast one.
nothing powerplay wise has changed. gonna be hard to score with no movement no net presence and seemingly no motivation to break into the tough areas.
the heartless power play and the utter ignorance/refusal to augment it is the most frustrating part of hawks games for me.

Hawks had 3 consecutive PPs w/o a shot.

Barry Smith runs the PP. He's too old to come up with new tricks.

maybe i dont understand/know but how would assistants change anything ? hawks have had 6 helpers and now 2 head coaches and its still a fucked up deflated umbrella and the lets stand still then dump the puck in and chase it back to our zone.
fuck them.
