Per Scott Powers; The Blackhawks and Brendan Perlini continue to discuss a new deal. Both sides sound optimistic. A source said Monday they were hopeful the contract would be done "over the next week or so." Fake news. The week is almost done and he still hasn't signed. I hate it when nothing happens. That's when I drink more to overcompensate.Yah, That's why.

Perlini is still unsigned.
I don't know if I can cope with this dubiety much longer.

No reason to sign him for anything over his qualifying offer. Let him sit at home and ruin his career. Or he can take his one year deal and prove that he can be more consistent and try to cash in next summer.
If he wants to go overseas, no loss.

Agreed. Stan wins the Schmaltz trade & then holds firm on paying one of the guys he brought in on that deal? Could he finally be learning?

Supposedly Perlini signed for $875K for one year. If true, well done Stan on paying for performance we've seen, not the performance we want to see.

But then again, Kruger took a team-friendly deal for one year and wound up with a $3 million per year contract that he was never able to really justify. Hopefully Stanbo has learned that lesson too.

It's official. www.tsn.ca/chicago-blackhawks-sign-rfa-brendan-perlini-to-one-year-deal-1.1361580That's a great deal! But wait, didn't we hear Stan wanting to get Perlini for one million? Then they couldn't reach an agreement for a long time and now he signs for less? What happened in Perlini's camp here? Why didn't he just sign the QO? He made 1.36m last year and a qualifying offer is a one year deal at 105% of the previous deal, iirc. He got bullied into taking less? Or that offer was off the table and he just took whatever he got? I would fire my agent. He could be making more with the same term, and just made it worse by negotiating and waiting.

So, now it makes sense. His base salary without the bonii last year was 800k and change, and this number he now signed for is the 5% minimum raise he got QO'd with. I guess with training camp approaching he finally decided to sign the QO.
Nice work not budging, Stan!
(I had Perlini pegged in at 2+ million)
