Does Carpenter have any use other than winning an occasional faceoff? I have zero issue with a 4th liner who is gritty and consistent and gets paid like a fourth liner. It's more of a shame to everyone in the top 9 whose ice time he is taking. Patrick Kane... man, I know he he scored one, but his effort without the puck is awful. An automatic chance for the opposition every time they play the puck to his wing. You could make a Sidney Crosby by combining Kane & Carpenter into one player.

I thought the Hawks had this at 2-0 and with Crosby out, but they lacked that killer mentality and let the Pens come back.
Pretty good game in a vacuum otherwise. They played fast and put in the effort (except a few superstars), hit some and skated hard. Colliton may have got his message across to the peons of this team. But the true challenge is in getting the stars to buy in.

They say the 2 goal lead is the most blown lead in Hockey and Hawks proved that theory. Crawford played well until SO. Take the point as they need everyone they can get. Makes no sense considering that in order to blow a 2 goal lead you always also have to blow a 1 goal lead. But not vice versa.
