Within a week I've managed to get a ticket for speeding (radar and camera hidden in the back of a van), a ticket for idling (it was -24C/-11F and I just stopped to get 1 pack of sliced turkey from the supermarket) and also backed into my neighbour's Mercedes, so my insurance is going up.
I've got annual service, and inspection coming up, gas is like €2 per liter (~$8.20 US per gallon). Add the time I take to shovel snow to get my car out every morning, the time I take to shovel my parking spot when I return from work, and I feel like I should just fuck it and uber to work every day instead. And take train/plane + hotel for work trips instead of driving like an idiot.
EDIT: speeding was €100 and idling €35. They caught me going 49kph in a 40 zone, quiet Sunday morning, no other cars. Speedometer said 56kph, so I was half expecting it to be €200...

A random thing I noted while going down a Youtube rabbit hole:  That's the 2014 NHL draft, Panthers have the stage, and it's Uncle Dale about to make his pick for 1st overall. All three of those guys are Panthers now. How about that. |
