Following their second-round victory over the Vancouver Canucks in May 2010, the Blackhawks flew straight to San Jose for the Western Conference finals rather than return home to Chicago. They spent a full week in San Jose, with four off days before the series began.
It was then, at the team hotel and local bars, that word spread among the players that two teammates had accused video coach Brad Aldrich of sexual assault, alleging that he got them drunk and tried to perform oral sex on them.
“Every guy on the team knew about it,” one player on the 2010 team told The Athletic. “Every single guy on the team knew.”theathletic.com/2672134/2021/06/25/former-blackhawks-player-every-guy-on-the-team-knew-about-video-coachs-alleged-sexual-assault/?source=dailyemail

Bye Stan. Maybe before the draft even.
If the nhl investigates this and determines this happened, can they suspend Stan? Code of conduct policies and whatnot. I’m not sure where the nhl falls in that spectrum.
Rocky should take care of this long before that however…

They will hang this on McD, and considering the marketing hype machine going at the time combined with the uncertainty of what is real and what isn't when it is one person's word against another while mass quantities of alcohol are thrown in the middle, I doubt it goes any further. The organization will settle out of court quietly.

What I was asking was is the nhl in a position to take its own actions and launch its own investigation, like the nfl does when misconduct issues come up with a player or a team.

Lol you don’t think if bettman has the authority to conduct his own investigation and hand down punishment he won’t do it?

Bettman probably has his own ring of young boys he needs to keep quiet about.

If all this had happened post-Penn St., I see little to no way that the execs wouldn't have covered themselves by reporting this up the chain, even in a Stanley Cup run.
Since it was pre-Penn St., all bets may well be off and they may have reacted initially much like Penn St. did, except they did ask him to leave. The key would be "without reporting it." It may not be as bad as US Gymnastics, but, if guilty, passing individuals like this on to the next crime is a huge part of the problem.
