Is it bad when Stan's best move this offseason was signing Lance Bouma?
I'll say Murphy looks like he has increased confidence the last few games. More decisive and better positioning.
Forsling is still way too hot or cold. He looks like Duncan Keith did about 12 years ago.
Speaking of 12 years ago, 34 year old Duncan Keith is playing like he did when he was 22-24.
Seabrook looks like someone poured concrete in his skates every time he steps on the ice.
Toews is so bad it's not even funny anymore. He can't even win board battles like he used to. Would Winterpeg even take him at this point?
This game was entertaining but that's because both these teams are basically bubble playoff teams and have an equal chance of doing nothing in the playoffs if they even make it.

This time the Hawks earned that 1pt. It was an even affair, with many chances to win it. Good pace in the game, by both teams. Neither team just stood around looking for counter attacks, but focused on actually creating scoring chances. Forsberg was good, DeBrincat looked dangerous every time he touched the puck, Rutta seemed to be everywhere. The Toews line got owned by the Seguin line. And the Hawks' special teams helped the Stars a lot. 5-on-5 I feel the Hawks were the better team. Agreed. But this was a game that the Hawks used to always win. Remember back when they were more skilled and faster than most everybody ? they would take everybody else's best shot and still win. This bunch as presently constituted might sneak in and grab the 7th/8th playoff spot next spring but it's a maybe at best. And even then, Crawford would have to play out of his mind for any chance at advancing. Q needs to put the kid with 19 & 20, it's worth a shot. Get Dick the hell off that line, he doesn't belong especially with Saad there now. Toews and Cat seemed to have a bit of chemistry, I thought they looked pretty good at least playing together in the overtime. But Coach needs to find out. Keith has lost his wheels and as a result seems to panic WAY more than he ever used to. Seabrook was supposed to be the guy who should have been traded over the past summer, not Hammer. And surely not for Connor Fucking Murphy. He actually reminded me, albeit very briefly, of that stiff Rundblad for a shift or two. I snapped out of it but he has a LONG WAY TO GO, and while Ruutta and Forsling might actually someday make a nice 2nd pairing, they are going to take their lumps and fuck up quite a bit before they get there. But it is what it is, they just need to play. Forsberg was damn good, a bit of a whiff with the glove on Faksa's goal, but he was up to the challenge otherwise. My personal favorite was the enema like power play. Jeezus H Tap Dancing Christ, what a clusterfuck. Anybody else catch that one in the second period where our boys FUCKING ICED the puck ? I shit you not, we iced it. With the man advantage. And then almost gave up another shortie on the same PP. Can't seem to put together more than one crisp, on target pass either. Keith needs to be left on the bench during these, it actually would save him some minutes for the long haul. He doesn't want anything to do with shooting the puck anyways. I recall SEVERAL times from last night where somebody else set him up perfectly to blast away with a great angle to the net and he just pushed it back, return to sender. But in summarizing the whole thing, fellas, this is what it looks like when the wheels start to fall off, albeit one at a time. The days of winning with this core are behind us. No more Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabs in their primes. Sigh...

Ruuta and Forsling a 2nd pairing...lol

They should sign David Koci to at least make the games entertaining to watch.

They can't be relied on to contribute offensively, despite the combined cap hit of a legitimate top line.

He's the only threat on that line, and opposition is treating him that way.

If he wants to be a top line player, he is supposed to be treated like a threat. And then proceed to outplay the opposition.
