What a performance. Even Konroyd seemed annoyed. Hawks beaten in every phase, and then Hartman gets his ass....Key Goalie replacement, after 5 go in.

Hawks got bitchslapped on their own ice
Actually feel bad for Hartman...only guy in the lineup who will even go...and he was totally overmatched

Terrible effort. Can't even list the amount of suckiness displayed by everyone. I guess a couple OK performances - Kane does what he does, a three point night. Gusto played 21mins, was a plus-player and had a goal and an assist. Hartman dropped the gloves. Those three stood out, the rest could go fuck themselves. Hawks got bitchslapped on their own ice Actually feel bad for Hartman...only guy in the lineup who will even go...and he was totally overmatched And Q is probably going to scratch him now.

As the playoffs move further and further away I expect a lot more nights like that.
They had a reason to play hard since they are still "close" to the playoffs. But in a few weeks or a month they will have zero motivation and this will happen quite often I fear.

I should aim 'higher'. Hawks in line for Top 5 pick, at least.

I didn't think it could get worse than the Wings game, but it did on Saturday. Pathetic performance.
Time for everyone to admit what this season really is, a rebuild on the fly (best case scenario) or the beginning of a complete rebuild. This team is not making the playoffs, and going forward, it might be best for this franchise to get a top 10 pick to help start replenishing the young talent in the organization instead of somehow sneaking in and getting cockslapped in the first round again.

Otherwise agree, but that statement would carry more weight if angman didn't actually enjoy getting cockslapped.

The bad thing: It seemed like the Hawks are trying to play with urgency. Every goal they scored was being celebrated with the intensity of a playoff goal. They know things are on the brink here. ...And that's the best they could come up with.
Maybe you toss The Islanders game up to the bye-week, as it plagues most teams. That said.... Before Crawford's injury, I felt this was a bubble team that does squeeze into the playoffs. But now that he's going to miss most of the season, they look like a bubble team that is going to miss.

I don't think the bye-week excuse works this season, as teams coming off a bye-week play each other. As unprepared and sloppy as the Hawks were, it should apply to the Islanders as well. They are just legit better than the Hawks.

Hawks are that little drop of soap on the bottom of the bubble. Gary knows of what he speaks here, since soap-dropping and bubble-bottoms are his specialty.

In most cases, they tried to get bye-week teams playing other bye-week teams, but the Hawks were 'unfortunate' to where they were one of the few teams that had to play a team that wasn't fresh off the bye. That was the Isle's 4th game that week.
