Nobody is arguing that it was a good playoffs for Toews. We are arguing that Crosby's Conn Smythe was a joke.

The fact that you still see Toews go on extended runs and look like the player he used to be, seems to tell me that he's not broken down or beat up. He's just complacent, and has lost the fire. What extended runs had he gone on this year? Hes done

I guess extended was the wrong choice of words.
I don't think he's washed up, personally. I think this entire roster has been polluted with the coddling, no practicing, soft as baby shit approach to coaching that has been incorporated since the Hawks won their last cup. They have been so good for so long, they forgot that hard work is what got them there...and that hard work is what keeps you at the top when you start getting older. You ask any of the veterans in the NHL and they will tell you the older they get, the harder they have to work to stay in shape, stay sharp, and keep up with the younger players... That is NOT happening with the Hawks. When you have a bunch of hall of famers, in their prime, you don't need to be constantly working your asses off at practice. When the league is just getting faster and more talented, and your stars are getting older, and the roster is full of young guys in their first or second year in the NHL...practice is fucking crucial.

LOL - were have I ever said 2013 Toews should have won the Conn Smythe? Jim loves phantom defence argument from a player who was well behind the team leader in scoring and somehow was also a MINUS. But since it's Sid, it's all good.

I think the reduction in practice time is starting to be seen across the league though. I don't know if that's a Hawks-specific thing.

Toews is better than Crosby...that is the narrative...and its just silly...they arent in the same class No - the original narrative (that started about 4 years ago) was that JT was a more complete hockey player than Crosby. "MORE COMPLETE" = better at more things than just putting up points. Like a guy who can hit, run, throw, is more complete than a guy who can hit and hit well. I don't care if Crosby gets 300 of his 2nd PP assists, he does little else besides tally PP points. Even this year and how bad Toews' season has gone, they're very close in even-strength points. Basically boils down to Crosby being a powerplay specialist. I'll never argue against that. Anyway, just fun to watch you come to the defense of the most egregious CS ever awarded simply because it was Crosby.

LMFAO...its never been about the CS until right now....too funny.
Yay...plus/minus...thats wirth $10.5 mil per year!!
Ryan believes JT is a better player...which, especially currently, is joke-worthy.
Sid had a SIGNIFICANTLY better post-season whilst winning his 1st CS, than JT did in 2014...thats just a fact.

Yes...there is the ever comical Sid does nothing but out up points argument....LMFAO.
Most-complete, btw, is just a consolation trophy for guys not actually good enough to be considered elite. Crosby is a well above aversge leader and all around player...his drive and ability to make those around him better make him elite...not just his sublime skill.
Every single hockey expert...except TAYZERFAN19...will tell you how good Sid is in the room snd without the puck.

It's comments like this that make you lose all credibility in terms of calling ANYONE a fanboi. The bottom line is, had Toews ended up with Crosby's 2016 numbers they would not be nearly good enough for him to escape your ire.

That's odd that you are now turning to hockey experts -- who almost to a person would argue against JT being "Mike Richards".

No they wouldn't...not at all...Richards played a ton of tough minutes and broke down physically and mentally before 30...Toews mirrors that.
Ive heard it mentioned several times, since I made the original comparison.
Toews is broken down and fatigued.

Double the number of goals...like 5 more pts...yes...significantly better. But it is to be expected...Toews is a checking centre...the Canadian Markus Kruger.
