And Hayden on the 6th line? This team is full of too many smurfs. Yeah, maybe they can win a bunch of regular season games, but come playoff time, they will be dispatched early.

Severson, sure. Nash, no, he won't play 50 games without being hurt a lot, and it'll be a two or three year deal, which for him at this stage isn't cool. Ho-Sang can be a good one but apparently his attitude has kept him from the big club for a while now. And Duclair still on the team? Fuck right noff...
EDIT again: JURCO STILL ON THE ROSTER....DOUBLE FUCK OFF

Even he can't see himself being on the Hawk roster.

Best line: "The Blackhawks have bodies on the blueline."
What a ringing endorsement.

Best line: "The Blackhawks have bodies on the blueline." What a ringing endorsement. It makes sense....Otherwise they'd just be bones and guts everywhere.

Or literal pylons instead of figurative.

Dream offseason: Q becomes VP of Wirtz Beverages, head UC janitorial engineer, and fulltime Binny's spokesman under whatever title McCub wants to label it. We win the draft lottery and plug Dahlin into the top pairing LHD slot for the next decade. We sign John Carlson to 5 years @ 7 (Shattenkirk's deal plus an extra year and a little inflation). I never have to see Keith (or Seabrook for that matter) on a top PP unit again. We trade whichever of Murphy or Ruuta we can to free a little cap and a slot for Carlson. We trade Anisimov Find a Center in trade or free agency in the 3 million a year range that can win a faceoff, PK well, and chip in 40 points (basically Anisimov minus the faceoffs & PK (at least the well part). Have Crow sort out his health issues. So I am 0-2 on my list, 0-3 looking likely as Carslon realistically gets paid very well (hopefully by someone else). My revised (more realistic) dream offseason: Q and Seabs get hit by a Wirtz Beverages delivery truck and Chicago PD finds Pullford (is that bastard even alive or will he have to be dug up and film the Weekend at Bernie's sequel?) passed out behind the wheel with an empty bottle of Tito's vodka in his hand. In seriousness we need a significant upgrade at D and on the PP. Even with the cap going up and the Panarin overage penalty freeing up a chunk of cap, I don't see Carlson as a good signing. Someone is going to pay him to much for to long. History says he is a 10ish goal 35ish point dman, but he will be getting paid as a 15 goal/55point guy based on his career year heading into his UFA Summer. With the cap increase, that probably means 8-9 millionz per for 6-7 years. The guys that make sense are trading for either Klefbom or Nurse from Edmonton, or Severson from NJ, or Shattenkirk from the Rags. Edmonton is my first choice as Klembom/Nurse are LHD which is probably more useful at this point. Edmonton has nearly 18 million per tied up in the 4some of Sekera, Russell, Larsson, & Klefbom. Nurse is probably 3.5-4 as a RFA to get any term on a deal. Needwise I think Edmonton would be looking for more depth at forward and some of (Saad, Sikura, Hayton, Hino or even Dcat in the right package might be of interest to the Oil). Nashville first/Gustafson and their choice of Hino/Duclair for Klefbom? Nurse is a guy that has put up some points despite getting virtually no PP time in Edmonton. Severson is a guy that could run a PP (certainly better then what we have). Murphy or Rutta and the Nashville pick for Severson? Shattenkirk would be interesting as he only has 3 years @ 6.65 left and the Rags seem to be in full rebuild mode at this point. Next I would love to acquire Boone Jenner from Columbus (or sign Riley Nash as a UFA). I wouldn't mind hanging onto Anisimov and play him (or even Schmaltz) at wing if Hossa's contract can be moved relatively painlessly (something along the cost of Datsyuk deal getting moved).

The problem with the PP is not the personnel, it’s the coaching and predictable scheme they use.

I already griped about the Hoss thing.
I can also differentiate evaluating leagues vs evaluating people.
