Twins vs Yanks tonight. Wild first inning...81 pitches, 3-3 score. The Indians have to be giggling wildly watching this.

Have to give credit to the Cubs for gutting out the 5 game win despite some ugly baseball across the board. Love that Harper struck out to end the series.
The pitching staff is a bit of a train wreck heading into LA, with some credit due on that to Maddon.
Hard to see the Cubs winning vs a rested Dodgers team, but it was also hard to see them winning game 5 after the dismal game 4. Weird to say - a playoff experienced Cubs team...

The bullpen is a total mess. Rondon should be back in, Edwards has been brutal and Maddon has lost faith in him.
Anyone else see the Nats had a priest bless the dugout before the game? Dusty is the gift that keeps on giving.

Given where we've come from and the condition of the pitching, if they repeat this year, it will be a bigger shock than 2016. Agreed that Rondon should be in and Wilson out, though Maddon has no faith whatsoever in Rondon, and with good reason based on results. Rondon has had zero confidence since blowing a save early in the year. They really need him to bounce back. And for the starters to go more than 4 innings.

Dodgers struggle against lefties so I would assume Zastryskznyssxysya will be in. That likely also means Wilson sticks. If Lackey isn't starting game 1, I believe he will be left off the roster and Rondon will be added.
The bullpen was a mess the entire Nats' series, but this is now a new one so turn the page and get it done.

Dodgers won regular season series 4-2, but the teams finished up their games against each other all in the 1st half when the Cubs were clearly suffering from the WS hangover. 2nd half the Cubs were a better team than the Dodgers. This is the playoffs so anything goes, and they are still the Dodgers so the pucker factor on their anal rims is always in play. Cubs need to get better performances out of Heyward and Baez at the plate. Baez was horrendous especially against the Nats.

IF I'm the Dodgers, though, I'm about to face a team that won a game 5 with little to no contribution from the heart of the order. And with Baez it is all about confidence. If he has some success, the Cubs offense will be that much tougher. Living to fight another day....

Wow, huge blow to the Dodgers with Seager being left off the roster due to a back injury. That would be like Kris Bryant being left off the Cubs' roster.

The Cubs trying to win a World Series without a bullpen reminds me of the Hawks trying to win a Stanley Cup with 4 defensemen. Somehow the latter worked. I don't see how the former will. At this rate, the Astros are gonna steamroll whoever they play anyway.

The bullpen is awful and the offense will swing at anything.
This has the potential to be a very short series.

You walk 10 guys and you deserve to lose in that fashion. Why the hell were the Cubs pitching to Turner in that spot anyway with 1st base open. Maddon is a damn fool.
Cucks!

Series is over, can’t win when your hitters would basically swing at a pickoff attempt right now.
