Brewers have that swagger that the Cubs did in 2016.

Yes, still don’t think they have enough to take down Boston or Houston though. Especially with how Counsell is going to wear down that bullpen by the time they likely get to WS.

I can actually see the logic behind this one, as it set up the entire lineup for the day against a lefty when he brings in a hard throwing righty type starter for the next few innings. Really depends if Miley starts Friday, but the logic on this one isn’t as far fetched as it seemed on the face.

This is crazy. These pitchers were good enough to pitch thru/out of problems all season, but not now.

There is a price to pay for over-pitching the bullpen. The playoffs are now coming down to whose bullpen has the most gas left in the tank. And I guess starting pitchers can't go more than four innings.
The new metrics are great, but I don't care how great your bullpen is, if you can't secure at least six innings out of your starting pitchers, you do not belong in the playoffs.

Ummm, yeah, pulling your starter after 5 pitches is kind of putting the bullpen in a tough spot. He pulled Miley and put in the guy he was actually going to start, Woodruff, who went 5.3 innings. Miley is starting today again. So it didn't hurt the bullpen at all.

I like the move by Counsell, even though Im a Dodger Fan. Dave Roberts was duped by stacking his team full of right heavy hitters, a shifty move for sure by the Brewers skipper.
This is new basebal, and I love it. Look at all the defensive shift's played nowadays, which is actually WORKING. Traditionalist crying about unwritten rules will be silenced soon my friends.

Houston following the Cubs model. WS, League Championship, and then wild card loss next year?

Houston following the Cubs model. WS, League Championship, and then wild card loss next year? Can't imagine anyone but Houston winning the West.

Keuchel - "we're not the Cubs" - well you're right - the Astros won one game.

Looks like this should be a quick Championship for Boston. Kershaw and Sale sure had a battle to see who could be worse.
