How many 2010 finalists still left?
Because that's the only time these teams were rivals in the last several decades.

Toews and Saad need to step up. They've been shit the last several games. And the Hawks can't win without that line winning their matchup.

This game should be a win for the Hawks, and I say that using the new standard for the Hawks.

Wow severe lack of interest here. Crow was outstanding. I'll always take a Hawks win.

NBC's coverage absolutely sucks. Doc uses the same fucking phrases over and over. "rattled around", "Off the PIPE!", "100 seconds left"...
I won't even get started on their color commentary group.

I don't get how people like the way Doc calls a game. To me, he comes off as a guy impersonating what he thinks a smart guy would sound like. He just rambles on and on, and chooses to frequently take the most convoluted route to saying something as simple as, "The crowd is excited." Maybe next time I tune in for one of his games, I'll try to do a better job of transcribing him. A faded example I don't remember word by word went something like this: "And those donning the red colored jerseys in the stadium have lots to be excited about. Meanwhile, those wearing the BLUE colored jerseys do not." Great. Thanks for that, asshole. It's like he tries to go out of his way to phrase things as a riddle for you to figure out what the hell is getting at.
So going to what HF10 pointed out... For as much as he tries to come across as a wordsmith, he spends a lot of time repeating the same shit over and over again.
In short: I can't stand Doc's commentary, and I get really heated about it.

An acceptable performance by the Hawks. I think Toews played well. That line has little chemistry, but you could tell Toews busted ass.
Saad still sucked. Maybe taking him off Toews' line helped Johnny out? And I don't want to crap on #20 because he was great the first two weeks. Quite literally carried the Hawks to a win or two. But he's not been good lately. Maybe the off-season roid regiment is wearing off?
At least Saad took part in that 100% PK, so that's something. But look at Sharp. Oh, you can't see him? That's right, he's practically invisible. He's unable to make anything happen, Mr.Invisible
Crawford played amazing. This was not an easy shutout. He earned it. Not even sure the Hawks walk out with a win if he didn't play as well as he did. Game MVP.
Defense was not terrible, but I'm not super confident with Kempny. Actually not with Murphy either, but I can not complain about his performance last night. THAT'S how I expected him to play. Now go do that again, run people over every night, Connor! I loved it. You could tell his dad was proud, even though he was working for the enemy.
Seabrook... eh, I'm not gonna go there. The Hawks won. He was a part of it, and ate some minutes so that's okay.

I don't think Doc was this way when he started out and did Devils games. NBC talks to the casual fan. They still will occasionally still explain what offsides is. Pierre is annoying. But it's coverage of select teams that many don't have access to otherwise.. The beauty of most sports is you can turn the volume off and still know what's going on. If you are in a noisy sports bar watching you can't hear what's going on and still enjoy the game.
