Anisimov has been good lately too. Very simple and effective play. I think Kane would benefit from playing with him. I'd like to see those two reunited.
Obviously Kane would benefit MORE from playing with Toews, but we know Q won't allow it, so for argument's sake let's pretend that's not even an option.
Also, the Hawks probably don't have the depth to win a hockey game with Toews and Kane on the same line. Any goal they score is given up doubly the times they aren't on the ice.

I don't get how people like the way Doc calls a game. To me, he comes off as a guy impersonating what he thinks a smart guy would sound like. He just rambles on and on, and chooses to frequently take the most convoluted route to saying something as simple as, "The crowd is excited." Maybe next time I tune in for one of his games, I'll try to do a better job of transcribing him. A faded example I don't remember word by word went something like this: "And those donning the red colored jerseys in the stadium have lots to be excited about. Meanwhile, those wearing the BLUE colored jerseys do not." Great. Thanks for that, asshole. It's like he tries to go out of his way to phrase things as a riddle for you to figure out what the hell is getting at. So going to what HF10 pointed out... For as much as he tries to come across as a wordsmith, he spends a lot of time repeating the same shit over and over again. In short: I can't stand Doc's commentary, and I get really heated about it. I'm not sure anybody has ever said that Doc Emrick gets them hot.

Crow was good...but (and this is not a slam) Crow was a bit lucky also. On a couple of the highlighted saves...Crow was either fumbling out of the net then scrambling back or moving from side-to-side desperately to make a toe save. Either of those coulda easily gone in. To his credit, Crow has been the least of the Hawks problems so far this year. Another positive to take away from this game was that both Hawks early goals were from doing the right things in one form or another. Credit to them on that.
I really think fixing the defensive end...pairings, execution, etc....will do the most to improve the Hawks play. Conversely, really don't see a dramatic improvement in forwards, no matter how Q might jumble the lines, given the personnel they have right now....just not enough talent there. The Hawks can't play dump and chase. They have to get back to a transition game.....if they can 'fix' the D.

How many 2010 finalists still left? Because that's the only time these teams were rivals in the last several decades. Returning to this for a moment - Giroux is the only player remaining from that 2010 Flyers team.

I don't think any of the current team members will be on the Hawks in 7 years time.

I could see 88 and 19 wanting to go home in the twilight of their careers. Hawks will also probably be at a major crossroads where it will be time to go all in for Connor McDavid's offspring.

7 years from now 88 and 19's twinsies will have expired. It's possible 19 will retire given that he will likely be in a wheelchair asking for a can of corn. 88 will probably go back to Buffalo so he can find that cabbie and finish the job.
