If the Hawks have really checked out (and it appears to me they have), this one could get ugly fast.
Coilers 8, Hawks 2. McJesus with a six point night.
Toews will get the second goal when it's 7-1 though so that's good, right??

If last night was any indication then tonight isn’t worth watching.
5-1 Oil

Does it matter?
Both guys are AHL trash...
...and have you seen the team in front of them?

I'd like to see this Glass fellow maybe. A journeyman, but decent numbers in the AHL this year.
It's a great moment whenever someone makes their NHL debut as a 32-year-old.

www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-spt-blackhawks-jeff-glass-20171228-story.html“There’s times you wonder what you’re doing,” Glass said Wednesday during an interview on Blackhawks TV. “I believe in myself, believe in the process. My path’s been a little longer than most, but I’m happy to be here.
“You never know. You usually only get one chance. I’m going to try to make the most of my opportunity.”
Glass, who is 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, was 5-0 with a 1.40 goals-against average while leading Canada to the World Junior Championships title in 2005. He also was named the WHL’s top goalie in 2004-05.

Hawks a much more realistic 9/5 underdog tonight. I say they get one here. Panik and sharp each with a brace

Glass confirmed as the starter tonight. I'll be rooting for him.
That 2005 Canadian team was very talented. Weber, Seabrook, Phaneuf, Bergeron, Crosby, Getzlaf, Perry, Ladd, Mike Richards, just to name a few. To be a stud starter there you'd expect to become more than a journeyman farm hand. But there you go, he's in the NHL, even if it's just for tonight.

1-1 after one, and it flatters the Hawks.
Kane is the only player who can generate scoring chances. Everyone else is just kind of there, throwing blind passes and getting shoved.
Mr Glass was fine. A couple of quality stops, including a Draisaitl breakaway and a one-timer from the slot by Lucic. He had no chance against that goal by JP Jarvi, it was chaos in front of the net.
Toews, Saad, Cat, Schmaltz need to step up in the second.

That didn't need to get to OT. Hawks were the better team in the third, but completely fucked it up in the last two minutes. That play by Keith on the tying goal, when he himself brings the puck in the zone, was brutal.
Luckily Kane still consistently delivers, and the Hawks escape with two points. He made Drai and Talbot his bitches.
I was on board the Glass-train up until that 3-2 goal by RNH. He made some good saves all night, but he should have had that one. His rebound control is also terrible, but he seemed to be tough to beat on first chances, so that's something. I wouldn't mind seeing another game from him. And if he gets another W, then bye bye Forsberg (till next season, at least). Hawks can't afford to piss away any points just to develop players. Take the 32-year-old backup if he brings a single point more than his alternative.

Much needed win.Very disturbing they let Oilers tie the game in the last few minutes though.
