This shit could get even uglier than the Islanders game, quick.
Tampa is an excellent team and a true Cup challenger this year. Lots of offense, steady blueline (even without Hedman it's ok), and Vasilievskiy (spell that ten times fast) has been solid and then some in the net.
Though the smell test of the last two games for the Hawks came up like the odour of rotten cabbage, this is the kind of game that could show us the maddening side of the Hawks...tjhey come out, play exceptionally well, and win. Maybe even handily.
I think Glass in net could be the downfall here. He has to have an AHL-or-lower-level game coming soon, and the Lightning strike from so many different directions, this could be it.
Tampa 6, Hawks 1. Gusto scores again. Why not?

Bolts have been a mess since they lost Hedman...Vas has given up 4 or more goals in 6 straight starts.
they have lost 3 in a row and are 4-6 in their last 10

Good to know except I still fear that either this is the game the Bolts get back on track and/or Glass has a super shitty game (IMO he's due, I hope I am mistaken). But this gives me more hope that the "Good" hawks show up (since inconsistency has been rampant in the first half of the year).

This team in some respects reminds me of the Ivan Boldirev era Hawks, only worse because that team had Esposito to save their ass, which means occasionally like a badly wounded animal it bites back. They're close, but they haven't bottom out quite yet.

Usually Toews wakes up from his slumber around January, and then goes on beast mode for awhile.
It has to start tonight.

Have we seen beast mode the last few years?

Hawks have no real goaltending so they have to hope one of them plays like an All Star for a game. I think a 3-2 Hawks victory could be in order here but up 3-1 they will give up a late goal and make us sweat it out as usual. Game is on NBCSN.

Hawks have already checked out. Bolts might not have their ‘A’ game but they won’t need it against these pussy Hawks. Bolts 4-1.

Somehow hawks are favorite tonight. Seems reasonable.
