I think it's safe to say that the window has officially closed. There is no core on this team anymore. Every player can be moved for the right price if there are takers.

You absolutely go with a new coach before you blow it up... Besides, most of the guys you need to move, you can't. And if you can, you aren't getting anything of value back.

Q has to go...but its deeper than that...its systemic up the ranks of the organization...Bowman assembled this gutless collection of turds...and overpaid them all. He cant be allowed to meddle any further.

Totally understand on the second half of this post. But isn't it still the fastest way to a rebuild? Otherwise we're talking about suffering even more years on bad, long contracts. Might as well suck it up, move them at all costs, and be able to start over in a year or two vs restarting in 4 or 5 years from now.

Everybody on the ice for that SHG against deserves their minus. That was a disgrace.
Hawks didn't lose because of goaltending, Glass did his part and gave them a chance. The skaters, forwards especially, sucked. Toews and Saad alternate between being completely useless and a liablity.

They looked good in first and aside from pp. Didn't look too out played Ya? I was only half watching at work.
I did see the 5 on 3 and fuck me awful. But nothing new. No movement no traffic no one shoots. It's just madness.

Yes Q has to go but will they fire him now or wait till the end of the miserable season and push him upstairs? That way they can save face a little bit as Q can say it's time to take a break from coaching. They would get roasted in the media for firing a 3 time Stanley Cup Winning Coach.

I think dressing the ice crew in hijabs should fix all ills.

If they had given the effort they gave last night more consistently, maybe they get something out of the Detroit and Islanders games, not to mention about 10 other games where they've pissed away points against mediocre competition. But that's the point really. Far too often this season, this team has given average effort at best and played with no sense of urgency thinking that they were just going to coast into the playoffs when they "flip the switch". What they've (players, coaches, management) failed to realize is that there is no switch anymore because the core isn't what it used to be. That, and for some reason the opposing team is more likely to score a goal than the Hawks when the Hawks have a PP.
This team is getting exactly what it deserves right now for its lack of urgency all season. That's an indictment on the players and the coaches. Seeing as it's a lot easier to fire a coach than trade 20 players, it's time to get rid of Q. The fact the lineup is not good enough falls on the GM, and frankly if he's sent packing as well I won't shed any tears.

I still can’t get over that 5 on 3.
What a total affront to anyone who’s ever played hockey. The PK literally doesn’t have to break a sweat to defend that garbage.

The Hawks did a better job checking their 2 extra men than could any PK unit...it was a marvelous thing to watch.

That way they can save face a little bit as Q can say it's time to take a break from coaching. They would get roasted in the media for firing a 3 time Stanley Cup Winning Coach. Q doesn't go until the end of the year. Why bother now? Take the shit season as it is, get a decent pick, retool as best you can in the offseason (god help us if Stan is doing it but....sigh). Plus I think even the media is cluing into the need for a change, and know that player change only goes so far, especially with all those deals the vets are signed to kneecapping what they can really do. So I think Q going won't be met with the media roasting you think it will. Q will be given the option to move upstairs but probably something Pully-esque, and I think he will want to coach more so he will leave the org. Which is for the best, really. I think that it is likely Stan gets another year to "fix" things, especially if they gas Q. That scares me more than anything. What kind of coach will be bring in? What kind of sell-off moves will he try to make? What wil he bring in for talent? We've seen this movie over the last three seasons as he has tried to hold the Hawks heads above water. Never mind all the moves in the Cup years...some worked, some didn't...but most of them ended up with a price that we are seeing the team on the ice pay now. I would really like to not see Stan do his thing for one more year, otherwise the next GM may have a mess that is even less fixable...and we are back to the dog days of the 2000's again.

Tomas jurco is a shit stain. Bouma-Wingels-Hayden was Hawks most consistently competitive line...Jurco I saw a couple of times last night, might as well have been in the Rock.

Stan is given at least a season or two after dumping Q to get things straight. It's pretty much how all sports go.
