Pretty sure Stan will pick Oliver Wahlstrom if he doesn't end up hitting the jackpot and moving into the top 3. Oliver played in the USHL, and he is committed to Harvard which means Stan can lose him as a UFA in 4 years time. It's the perfect Stan pick. Pretty sure in saying the Hawks will not be picking Wahlstrom unless they make a trade. If we win the lottery and move into the top 3, we are taking Dahlin, Zadina, or Svechnikov. If we don't win the Lottery and are picking 7, 8, or 9...Wahlstrom will be gone.

And hey, when he doesn't sign, it's a guaranteed 2nd round pick as compensation! Stan's not dumb. That 2nd round pick will be used to bring in Johnny Oduya at the 2023 deadline.

You know the sad thing is if Runny would have been on this year's hawks defense, he wouldn't have stuck out like the useless sore thumb that he was during his time here. He's have fit in a lot better with so many other horrible plays by that bunch going on.

Seriously what is the cutoff when the picks get a little "iffy"?
If we establish the line we can figure out where the hawks will draft (if there are 8 top tiered guys, hawks will draw spot 9 and Stan will be able to do his magic with an off the board Swede or USHL kid)....

That's the plan no matter where the Hawks pick.

Wahlstrom is a Swede that played in the USHL. Two birds, one stone.
