Hawks no doubt could be trying to score big money UFAs, but how interested in Chicago are the top free agents? Most of them are coming from teams with a better chance to compete. Yeah, you want to test the market... but if it's like being born in America and then getting adopted by an Ethiopian family when you're four, they might opt not to give in to the sweet promises of Stan.

But you could sell them on probably winning the Chicago or Boston marathon eventually.

Chicago is still a good place, especially if Stan hadn't already busted the piggy bank.

I don't think our big ticket UFA dollars should be going to a forward. We have a decent top 6 core of Kane, Toews, Saad, DeCat, & Schmaltz. Get a little bounce back from Saad and Toews, have Schmaltz make another incremental improvement for year to year as he did this past year, and have DeCat take the same kind of step Schmaltz did into his sophomore season, and that is a pretty good grouping. DuClair, Hinostroza, Hartman, Hayden and a signed Sikura give us enough option to fill things out going forward.
Our D is a train wreck and will only get worse in the short term as Keith and Seabs age. If we manage to clear Anisomov off the books (again if Toews is on the roster making 10.5 and Schmaltz is centering Kane, AA is a #3 and his cap hit is better spent elsewhere), between that, LTIR with Hossa (or we very well could move that cap hit too), Panarin's bonuses penalty, and inflation to the cap, we'll have cap space to add a significant free agent. I'm not sure I would invest that money into John Carlson, cause he probably gets 7.5-8 million per on too long of a term...but we would actually have a top pairing dman you could pair with Keith and have something that actually resembles a top pairing. I would probably target John Moore or Calvin De Haan as neither are as productive offensively as Carlson and should be much cheaper to sign as UFA's. Keith - Murphy (why exactly has our Qenius coach not even attempted this pairing?), John Moore -Seabs, and then some rotation of Forsling, Osterle, a resigned Ruuta, and maybe even Jokiharju can have a good camp and get himself into the mix. Is an improvement over the crap we've been rolling this year.

Hawks have allegedly turned down deals already for Saad and Anisimov Even though it's been a shit year for him saad shouldn't be moved without a hefty return. Anisimov I would love to know what was turned down. Remember Stan was super horny about signing him quickly after getting him. He probably wants a huge return to even consider moving him.

I can't imagine the return on AA will be that much. He's signed for two more years after this one. Hawks will have to take back some shitty NHL contract to balance it out. Let's go Kimmo and get some conditional picks that will turn into something good when AA's team wins the Cup though.
Not much against AA, but he's just a middling NHL player that will likely find himself on another 4 teams before his career is over.

AA I see as a player you move regardless of return. Don't expect anything big there, just move him. As already pointed out, he's basically a third line center here. No need to pay them 4 mil a year.
Saad, would depend. I really expect to see him rebound next season. So if you do move him, don't get caught selling low, make sure it's actually worth it. Stan doesn't need to fuck up a Saad trade a third time.
