And you guys doubt this team. This win can clearly and obviously be extrapolated to tell us the Hawks are going to win it all. Woot woot!

toew was really good. so were dk and seabrook.
thought ruuta n gusto were both alright..
kunitz meh...
ward... 2 softies n 2 good stops...
id love to hear why no one on the team on the pp ever even harbors a thought about a one timer. they keep rotating and shooting slappers into 6 guys..

Q says the more times we shoot the puck directly in to somebody's shins, the more times we get to set up with a fresh start to the PP.

Ward should be given credit for a shutout. He did stop them for 2+ periods. That's a major accomplishment.

A road win is a road win. The Hawks have to gobble up points everywhere they can.
They do need to work on forward coverage defensively and, in perpetuity, the PP.
The blue line was serviceable last night for the most part.
Not hating two defensive lines so far.

It was only one game, and it was only Ottawa, but it was nice to see JT with a goal and an assist.
Really need him to turn things around this year.

And as an aside, Martinsen played a pretty effective 4th line grinder/energy slot to this eye. Hopefully there is still a slot for Hayden to find ice time.

God, what a first period and start to the season. 3 goals against, playing against Ottawa (without Karlsson). They did tighten up after. Probably realized they have no goaltending, so "just don't let any shots come through, okay?" toew was really good. so were dk and seabrook. thought ruuta n gusto were both alright.. kunitz meh... ward... 2 softies n 2 good stops... id love to hear why no one on the team on the pp ever even harbors a thought about a one timer. they keep rotating and shooting slappers into 6 guys.. Worst player: Schmaltz. Terrible. And Saad too. Both are top 6 forwards. Got beat so bad. Like they didn't even care. Kunitz is totally useless. I was not comfortable watching Keith-Jokiharju either. Gustafsson played well. Nifty moves. That was the best d-pair, him and Seabiscuit. Toews was good. For one night, no complaints about his salary. Now keep it up.
