They are still in the wildcard hunt. That’s how lame the rest of the national league is.

They are still in the wildcard hunt. That’s how lame the rest of the national league is. The expanded wild card keeps about 90 percent of teams “in the hunt” for most of the season. It can’t hurt attendance but man I miss the days when teams had to actually be very good to make the playoffs.

Counsell may be missing the front office in Milwaukee more than the other way around, at least so far.
The bullpen is the bigger issue than the offense. Losing late games like they have been is a morale/momentum killer. No question the offense has to pick it up too. Two of their best from last year (Alzolay/Leiter) are either non-factors or have lost their way.
If Hoerner and Swanson in particular do not raise their average by 25 points by this time next month, it will be difficult to contend for a wild card. As said, the division and NL in general remains up for grabs, so selling is not in the cards.
Counsel seems to have magic in him in the latter half of the season, or at least he did with the Brewers. Hopefully that carries over.

That Swanson contract is starting to look like another Heyward-esque albatross.

GMs never learn with these contracts.

Went to the Sox game last night against the Ohtani's. Beers were $14.Two Oilers fans had their McDavid Jerseys on so I asked one what's the score? He grunted and refused to talk The other one finally said "We're not winning". How Rude you fucks. Hope they were Sox fans too cuz that was fun.

I can’t imagine a world where I’d be at a baseball game if my team were in Game 7 of the SCF at the same time.
Meanwhile, congrats to the Flubs on their 17th blown save of the year by June 24th. NFL can’t get here soon enough.

Apparently when Jed selected Counsell and looked at the Brewers track record with their bullpen, he must have forgotten that they had Josh Hader and Devin Williams to shut the door. The Cubs haven't had that kind of guy since 2016. But we like our team. Glad Crane Kenney is watching those purse strings. Truth be told, they probably need two or three guys. The guy off the scrap heap from Seattle is now their most reliable reliever. Wasted another solid outing by Steele.

It's a goal of his to outlive all us Sox fans over 50, toss a dollar bill on our headstones, then piss on it for good measure. He'll do it to.
