Biggest concern for the Cubs right now is Bryant's shoulder. He's back on the 10 day DL. Sounds like surgery in the offseason. Only thing you can do now is maintenance. Where is Brett Favre's pharmacist when you need him?

With the Nationals fading fast, perhaps the Cubs should make a play for Herrera on the Nationals to bolster the bullpen.
If every player in the lineup is not trying to jack a home run every time up, the Cubs can win without Bryant. They probably can't without another reliable bullpen arm. The Hamels pickup was a worthy risk.

Lester, Q, Hendricks, Hamels, and Darvish. Potential to be great to be honest. Hamels bounces back to form after getting out of Texas and in the thick of a pennant race. Darvish is the key. They don't need him to be awesome just to be pitching and eating innings and giving the team a chance to win. Potential gets Coaches fired. I hope Hickey knows how to get Hamels/Darvish heads out of their ass.

When you see the recent injury trend with a guy like Darvish, I'd be surprised if he contributes anything this year.

We're just tricking everybody right now and laying the groundwork for a return to glory in 2067.

We're just tricking everybody right now and laying the groundwork for a return to glory in 2067. You have some real studs on O, defense sucks, need to see if all those young arms turn out. Sox are in much better shape to advance. Copying the Theo plan works.

Went and saw the annual CFD/CPD charity game last week which is held at Guaranteed Rate. White Sox should consider giving a few of the union boys a contract. Can't be any worse, right?
By employing a few firemen, the Sox would then be better equipped to put out the fires on the field.

Saw an interesting rumo(u)r that the Cubs might go after Adrian Beltre. Bryant's shoulder is banged up. Beltre doesn't hit for power like he used to at 39, but he still is a 0.300 hitter. Expiring contract and the Rangers will send him away to wherever he wants most likely so cost of acquisition will be low.

Is it possible Bryant might be a tad overrated (over-hyped)?

The guy won the ROY his first season, MVP in his 2nd season. Injuries have been an issue this year, but what about his numbers scream overrated?

Is it possible Bryant might be a tad overrated (over-hyped)? Not really. He's been as advertised since he arrived...Very good at 3B also.

Beltre would be a great add if Bryant is done for the year.
