Sadly Darvish performed almost exactly as expected!

Pitching is so fickle especially in the bullpen. Duensing was awesome last year, and now he sucks. It's a year by year thing for most guys. The last big named pitcher in the draft was Strasburg, no? I don't think he's been close to what was advertised but that goes for the entire Nationals team so maybe he gets a break there. White Sox got Rodon and Fulmer in recent drafts. Fulmer is a bust, and Rodon has been inconsistent like Gary's bowel movements. The difference between the Sox and Cubs. Sox have always developed pitchers, Cubs-position players. The only part of Theo's draft all pitchers plan that blew was trading the good ones away. I believe Greinke is a FA.

Morrow scratched for the year. Morrow and Darvish. Nice work there, Theo. Wade Davis would look good still in Chicago, no? Closer by committee it looks like with Strop also questionable for returning. Next man up, bitches! Wade Davis has an ERA north of 4 & is getting over $16 million to be a closer. Don't think that would be helping the Cubs.

After all the rumors over the past year (including a since deleted Instagram post), Addison Russell's ex-wife accuses him of domestic abuse in a blog post. I expect the Cubs to take a long hard look at his offensive WAR of 0.7 & the fact they can play Baez at SS & Murphy at 2B and suspend him indefinitely...

At the current pace of performance, the Cubs will be lucky to win their division. This is not the performance of a team that is ramping up for a massive playoff run. More like a team that will lose again to the Dodgers if not sooner.

The Cubs are finished. It’s just a matter of it being in the WC game or NLDS.

Dodgers are currently in the playoffs
They hold the 2nd wildcard and are a game back in the division.
