The pitching did their job overall in the last two games. The offense was a no-show when it mattered most.

The offense was a no show for all of September. They needed games 163 and 164 to tie the Orioles for most games with 0 or 1 runs at 40. Truly pathetic for the talent on this team.

Just look at the Red Sox offense this year compared to last when he was fired. Speaks volumes. Doesn’t look good on Joe for bringing him in.

Just another mistake by Maddon in a postseason full of them. The guy is a good regular season manager, in terms of keeping players loose and not suffering from the grind, but man does he make a lot of game management errors. And while I don't blame Theo for the bullpen struggling (they made some great in-season moves and bullpens are often hard to pin down who will be good before a season), Chatwood deal was a disaster and the Darvish deal sucked for this year & better pay dividends starting next season. Plus the Cubs need to take a long hard look at why they couldn't score so often. Fire the batting coach, fine, but batting coaches are one of the most overrated positions in sports. Most players, especially vets, ignore the batting coach and do their own things.
On to other thing, anyone notice the A's are starting a reliver tonight? I looked it up, and it seems that all 5 starters that the A's had to begin the season are injured & out for the season, along with two other guys they called up. The A's have gotten by with retreads, like Brett Anderson & Edwin Jackson. They've had TWELVE different pitchers start at least 5 games. That's crazy...

I was optimistic when I heard Carl Edwards would not be eligible..........

Anderson & Jackson suck, (who's always overhyped). But looks like the A's have no choice, so for good for them. Weren't they picked to finish last in their division? A big F.U. to the "experts."

I'm hoping Sevirino repeats his Wild Card performance from last year but this time the Yanks lose.

Watching the Yankees lose would make for a wonderful addition to what has already been a marvelous wild card round.

Not yet. We need them (actually anybody) to beat the Red Sox first.

That makes no sense. The Cubs weren't felled by controlled explosions.
