That circle game fiasco is fucking insane...Cubs should be banning old man Ricketts if they are so concerned about 'racism'.

Time for Theo to pull the plug on CJ Edwards. It’s njst not going to work for him here, change of scenery is best for both at this point.
Also, Cubs hosting Women’s Empowerment Night on Monday, while still having Russell on the roster is quite rich.

May isn't September, nor is June 3, but the holes on this team in the bullpen and, arguably, in the "getting on base and creating offense" department is paving the way for the Cubbies to be fighting for a wild card spot again. Not scoring more than 1 run is not going to win many games. This is going to sound like the Blackhawks - both Maddon and Theo have their fingerprints on the suboptimal roster management since the World Series.

Cubs really miss Zobrist, and could really use a REAL lead-off hitter, and Kimbral.

Check out the June schedule ahead. Flubs could easily be 5+ back once we get to July.
Offense has reverted back to chasing anything and everything outside the strike zone. I just can’t see this team being able to beat Philly or LAD when it really matters.

And just so it isn't all on Theo - Kyle Schwarber leading off with nearly 1/3 of his at-bats being strikeouts, seriously? Zobrist really isn't a leadoff hitter either even if he was back.
Three signings the Cubs would probably like to have back...Morrow, Chatwood and Darvish.
I think Ken Giles is a more likely pick-up than Kimbrel will be a signing. They probably need two relief pitchers. Maybe take a flyer on a guy like Villar to lead off and play 2nd base.

So here is the $20 million per year question - can the Cubs even afford to consider signing Kimbrel to anything more than an end of year contract given the albatross contracts they already have on the books?
On the good news front in Iowa - Advert Alzolay is the first bonafide home grown pitching prospect to be excited about since the arrival of Theo.

Ok, so now we have clinched the division with this move. The Dodgers are the only team that could stand in our way.

Solid move, about 6 weeks too late. Who gives a fuck about losing a baseball draft pick?
