Isn't he the guy who operates the leaf blower after Zambrano is finished cutting the grass ? RACIST! (I would've said so last night, but I was busy puking after watching the game)

Does anyone visit Soxtalk.com?
It's a White Sox board and it's been down for awhile. Sometimes 'my favorite' link stops working and I have to re-find it, but i'm having no luck. Just wondering if anyone knows what happened?

There are White Sox fans to begin with?

Yeah, there's a few of us in hiding. The board probably went under from lack of support, but it was my only outlet for info on the team. Guess I'll have to find another.

Try WhiteSoxInteractive.com then. Dunno why the other one is down. Most of the posters there are legit and know their stuff. The mods though are some of the stiffest pricks around. asaad probably likes them anyways. But they are so 2018 PC it's sickening.

Nothing against a stiff prick. In fact, it's actually a high demand commodity around these parts. Gary hasn't seen one in about 25 years.

I'll check it out, thanks. *edit- I checked it out, but i'll have to just lurk. They won't let me register with yahoo or gmail addresses and that's all I have. No big deal, I'd rarely post anyway.

Phillies signing Jake is a weird one to me. They have a ton of young talent, but are they going to be competitive this year or next? I doubt it. And that third year on Arrietta's deal will probably suck for them anyway.
I fully expect the Brewers to grab Cobb now at either 1 year $10 million-ish or 3 years, $35 million, which would suck. Cobb & Holland are the only two really valuable guys still left, I think.

Boras looks like a total fool if that report the Cubs offered Jake the same deal as Darvish turns out to be true.

I would also love to go after Holland for the pen. I still lack confidence in this bullpen as currently constructed.

Arrieta signing with the Phillies shows there was little interest from the contenders for his services. His velocity fell off a cliff last season which is not a good thing if you're gonna project going forward. Jake is gonna be 33 this upcoming season. Many guys that rely exclusively on velocity tend to fall off a cliff rapidly.
I don't think the Cubs offered him the same deal as Darvish recently, but they did offer him a way better deal a year or two ago, IIRC. Jake bet on himself and the market and lost (as much as getting paid 75 million to throw a ball at another man's face is losing which Hawkdad thinks is actually winning since balls in man's face is what does it for him).
