I have 5 quick questions I'd like you to predict correct answers to.
1. Who starts in net for Game 1 of the regular season?
2. Does Al Nylander play in that game?
3. Who starts as the d-partner to Duncan Keith?
4. What two players start on a line with Perlini in that game?
5. What two players start on a line with Shaw in that game?
Get everything right and you win a handjob from asaad.
I find Perlini and Shaw the hardest to predict, since they could possibly play anywhere up and down the lineup. Caggiula too, but that's just too many similar questions already and who cares about Drake Caggiula anyway, right?

I've got:
1. Lehner. Crow's being eased into retirement.
2. No. Nylander gets cut. And proceeds to blow in Rockford
3. Olli Maatta. He is not good, he is not fast, but he has experience eating big minutes.
4. Strome & DeBrincat. I think that's an exciting 2nd line. But Perlini could just as well play on the 4th line, so who knows.
5. Brandon Saad & Zack Smith. Not sure what they can do together, but there's some grit and some hands there. Hawks might miss Anisimov if this line bombs. Maybe Saarela or Kubalik could play here if they make the team, to bring some creativity. And Smith on the fourth line.
There. I've got that handjob on lock.

Oh god. I mean, I like Gusto. I was his lone supporter even when he couldn't always crack the lineup (people even here thought that bum Forsling was more promising), and Gusto is a nice player to have, but just because he's scoring lots on the PP (which is great and important), doesn't mean he should get too much ice time 5-on-5. Hawks leak enough goals as is.

They have to play Nylander to justify the trade in the first place even if he doesn’t deserve it.

Quennville and Koekkoek will join Perlini on the buffet line in game 1 in the press box. Do I get to rosey palm myself now?

1. Crawford
2. Absolutely.
3. Gus
4. Perlini will be a healthy scratch.
5. Hawks are heavily promoting Shaw right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's with Kane & Toews to start off the year.

Shaw is on my "most likely to be hurt in the preseason" list, so there's that...

Since the first game is in the Eurozone, it would make sense to bring Nylander so he only has a short flight back to Sweden.

1. Crawford 2. Nylander will start the season in Rockford. The light bulb is not going to go on for him. 3. Keith's partner will again be Gustafsson, and that pairing will be more problematic this year, resulting in a switch by November. 4. Perlini will start the season in the press box due to Sikura or Dach making the opening night lineup at forward 5. Shaw will center Saad and Sikura

'We" already have enough guys that struggle to score.

Crawford in nets Nylander in the bigs. He played better with Sabres than he did here in Crapchester AHL. But he does suck no matter where he plays. No opinions on 3 4 5
