Hawks win!
I only watched two periods. Saad - Toews - Kubalik looked strong. Defense looked good. Never a bad time to beat the Blues.
With this kind of a tune-up, beating the champs, do the Oilers even stand a chance!?

Granted the atmosphere wasn't exactly "last preseason game" let alone playoffs (the Blues looked disinterested), but there was a fair amount to like. #50 looked pretty locked in and Subban wasn't bad either. I didn't see a lot of Blues traffic in the crease, which will change. As will the lack of hitting. Carlsson, Dach and Boqvist will have a target on their backs. It is good to have deHaan back.

The NHL should really be commended for making this happen with a minimum of drama compared to what is happening outside their two bubbles. It also helps that Canada as a country is actually keeping the virus under control and following the science to limit the spread. Meanwhile, the United States of Arrogance is going out of its way to fight against managing it. Scary times, but hard to imagine the first game back at the UC being any earlier than Fall 2021 at this rate.

Meh, Sweden is the right model. No lockdowns. If you’re concerned or high risk stay indoors and limit your interactions with others. For everyone else, business as usual. They are the closest to herd immunity and their mortality rate isn’t much different than anywhere else.

Have to agree... Ive been to a few 'free states' no masks no distancing.. there is imo 0.0% biden is gonna get full or next to full cooperation needed for a real lockdown. You will just have this spring back up. Just like it has in other countries snd areas. Save usa#1 will fight tooth n nail for their rights. That doesnt even take into consideration a many are being asked to protect the few so to speak. Where are we drawing thw line on protection? 2% 1% So only if only 10k fuck em? Its normal? Much easier for those wishing to be secluded to .. isolate than asking 300 million morons to indefinitely distance. Someone asked me how id feel if my mom was alive and sick if id feel differently. I would not. Id do what i needed to keep her protected. And if someone got her sick(like when she got the flu or etc) i wouldnt burn their life down. Blame them for recklessness... wouldnt ask or expect anyone to keep me or my family safe.

Why? Every article on bbc today is a spike in cases, including the 'poster child' for success in hong kong. England, germany, spain etc... All the places mentioned are imo much more prone to listening, doing the right thing. Usa certainly isnt.
All the masks n distance isnt going to fix this. Heck a vaccine might not in the usa. Herd immunity might not either.

Isn't the pandemic gone already?
We haven't had cases in weeks, and I never had to use a face mask.

Oh we do social distancing. But to Finns that's like telling dolphins to stay wet.

Herd immunity might not either. Everyone is going to get infected it’s just a matter if you slow roll it or take it head on. Many will get infected and never even know. I’d rather take it head on and not shut down my economy. There are already studies showing the lockdowns have increased suicide, domestic abuse, etc. Is it really worth it? The other aspect is you can’t trust the numbers when people dying in motorcycle accidents are being classified as COVID deaths. When you have a drug like HCQ that has been used for over 5 decades and all of a sudden it’s dangerous now that raises huge flags for me. No way I’m going to take some rushed to market vaccine.
