Forsling doesn't have Keith's defensive prowess. I see Forsling more like a poor man's OEL. Didn't watch Keith in his early years did you? He was pretty bad defensively.

Haw I know this Sabres team, keep shooting on them. Sooner or later Lehner will cough up a bad goal. great call.

The only similarities fucking Forsling has with a young Duncan Keith is how shitty he is defensively.

Poor Sabres they obviously don't know how to win a game. Ever since they coughed up 8 mil a year for Eichel he looks like a scared little kid that just pooped his pants. Not earning anywhere near that kind of money hmmm sounds familiar. Hawks had too many behind the back drop passes, just shoot the puck as they are not going to have many 40 SOG games when they play real teams.

Brutal PS attempt by Eichel in OT...even worse goal by Forsling...lol @ Lehner.. And his reaction.

Forsling on ice for every goal scored...and got called for penalty shot in OT. 'Shut-down defensman'...not exactly. Frighteningly chaotic...absolutely. Comparisons with early Keith...you bet, though Duncs used to try to skate-the-puck out of trouble more.
Near-rookie, in a little over his head, with speed & talent....hands down take him over some of the slugs that otherwise occupy the Hawks blue line this year.

But conversely he picked up 3 points GW goal and 2 helpers.

Yes, Keith was pretty chaotic in his own zone in his earlier days. Forsling isn't going to play that kind of game even if he reaches his full potential. Hawks have to find a way to pair him with a steady SAH type. I think they had a guy like that recently.

The Sabres proved they belong in the same tier as the Hawks.
But I'll focus on the positives. Wingels got rewarded for his large amount of hustle and bustle. Forsling showed some offensive chops. Murphy looked like he belonged.

Everyone should look like they belong against the Sabres.

Murphy has been playing much, much better. He's actually covering Seabrook's ass at this point, which is impressive. Biggest problem with the Hawks' D right now is dressing both Franson and Seabrook every night. That's just too much slow for this NHL. Especially when Franson is barely a #6. I heard Franson is hurt though, so that might be a good thing.
Wouldn't mind seeing:
2-5 42-44 6-7
The 42-44 pairing has been getting all of the defensive zone starts and tough matchups, and are holding their own quite well.
This team would be in much better shape if Seabrook and Toews were pulling their weight, and Keith had an NHL caliber partner.

They need more competition on the back end. Doesn't Vegas still have a boat load of d-men? Ship one over to Chicago.
Also, how has the Swedish Giraffe played in Rockford?
Get some new blood and make everyone fear for their spot.

If they bring up Gus or Pokka, I fear for Crawford
