I would say excellent 3 zone hockey for many years, exemplary leadership both on the ice and in the room, the willingness to a lot of the dirty work that other "leaders" would shy away from, and the knack for coming up with the big goal, winning a key face-off, things like that. We have/had one and his number is 19. Because barring some sort of miracle healing (somebody give him some steroids please) he is own the backside of a great career, let us not forget that he has ALREADY delivered the goods. Any one of us who call ourselves Hawk fans who haven't seen a Captain lift up the Stanley Cup since Gary skated with Hull and Mikita, would have signed up for a guy like Toews, ESPECIALLY during those lost in the wilderness years. Yeah it sucks that he's where he's at now, and at 10.5 but let us not forget just how heavy those 3 Cups and the rafter banners are. He was front and center for every one.

LOL - Crosby has never "shut anyone down" in his life.

LOL - Crosby has never "shut anyone down" in his life. Except himself when he has a 'hissy fit'.

#1 centers must eat beef or pork.

Accuracy, Man....I skated with Nesterenko and Ab McDonald.

Crosby is well above average defensively, but hey...he is also an elite scorer.. something 19 could never accomplish...but its cool he makes 2 mil more per year to scoree HALF the points!!!!

Crosby's cap hit would be 13 million under the new rules.
104 million/8 years

Crosby's cap hit would be 13 million under the new rules. 104 million/8 years Yup. Only makes sense that the NHL change the rules for everyone else AFTER their golden boy has his deal.

Patrick Kane racks up the Hawks' PP points and is better defensively than Crosby. He's also straight. Maybe 88 really IS a center! ?

Plain and simple The 'new rules' have not one fucking thing to do with it...Stan Bowman is what happened. Toews is washed up and Crosby is still winning Cups and CS trophies. and...eating steak...

Crosby doesnt get 12 mil his first 3 years if he doesnt get 3 mil his last 3 years...holy fuck.
he might get closer to what Toews makes...and would be well worth it...especially compared to Markus Kruger Toews.
