Yup. Only makes sense that the NHL change the rules for everyone else AFTER their golden boy has his deal. complete and total nonsense Crosby is a far superior player on a much better contract. Plain and simple The 'new rules' have not one fucking thing to do with it...Stan Bowman is what happened. Toews is washed up and Crosby is still winning Cups and CS trophies. and...eating steak... Hey, that's cool --- Imagine the Hawks were allowed to use up more than 8 years when putting together a deal? Think they might have done that? |

He's less-skilled than Patrick Kane and about equal defensively. Neither guy can win a faceoff. At least Kane is straight! He's not even the best or most impactful player on his own team. Three guys had more impact on both of their cup runs the last two years, but sure Crosby received all the credit (like a QB in the NFL does when one of his receivers scores 3 TDs) |

kane has NO defensive awareness...Crosby is well above average. Crosby received credit for his all around play...and leadership...that is why he won 2 CS trophies...but I know those things dont compute when combined with actual offensive abilities, in the world of Tayzer vegan awesomeness!!!! The less points you score, the bestest player you really are!!!!!

Crosby is well above average defensively, but hey...he is also an elite scorer.. something 19 could never accomplish...but its cool he makes 2 mil more per year to scoree HALF the points!!!! How can you compare the contracts when they were signed under different sets of rules? 87 is a better offensive player than 19 for sure. If all was equal, 87's cap hit would be higher if the Pens could not backload the deal with filler years. |

Higher than it is? Sure...as high as you claim? No chance.
If sid made the same as Toews, his would be a much better contract. Players get paid the big bucks to be diffrrence makers offensively first and foremost. You dont make $10 mil plus per year to be a 3rd line grinder. Crosby is simply a superior player and bigger difference maker...and it isnt close...not currently.
